No available connection to selected VM Network can be found

15th December, 2015 · Aaron Patten · Leave a comment
Ran into this particular issue while reinstalling a Hyper-V host and then adding back to SCVMM. I noticed the reinstalled host was not showing as an available target when trying to create a new VM. You can see the three errors it popped up in the wizard when the reinstalled host was selected. Screenshot 2015-12-15 14.25.14 Turns out, I had forgotten to associate the logical networks with the teamed adapters after reinstalling the host. To fix this, do the following
  1. Open the properties of the physical host in SCVMM Screenshot 2015-12-15 14.28.16
  2. Select the Hardware tab and scroll down to the Network Adapters section. Select the team or physical adapter that supports the VMNetwork to be assigned to VMs. In the screenshot below you can see its unchecked which was causing the error. Screenshot 2015-12-15 14.28.44
  3. Go back to SCVMM and now the issue should be corrected. Screenshot 2015-12-15 14.48.43
Hope that helps!
